Culver City's Washington Boulevard is transforming into quite the retail therapy destination. The latest to land on the stylish stretch is Bird Brooklyn, which opened its first west coast boutique next door to lifestyle center Platform at the end of March.

Known for its colorful mix of cult-favorite independent designers and rising names and for its focus on sustainably-made collections, the New York-bred luxury retailer's fifth location offers women's ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, and footwear from labels like Acne Studios, Rachel Comey, Ulla Johnson, Dries Van Noten, and more.

As far as the interiors, Bird Brooklyn owner Jen Mankins tapped longtime collaborator and Norwegian architect Ole Sondresen to channel the the brick and concrete building's midcentury and California roots. The 5,000-square-foot space features custom Douglas Fir wood fixtures, desert-inspired tiling by Heath Ceramics, and fabrics by LA design house Commune and Brooklyn's Eskayel. Custom brass cage chandeliers with hand-blown glass globes by Lindsey Adelman add a Scandinavian-inspired finishing touch to the space, while a garden by Elysian Landscapes at the entrance highlights native drought-tolerant plants.

Take a virtual tour of the sleek and stylish space above and see below for more store details.
