It’s hard not to be fascinated by Gwyneth Paltrow, the actress-turned-lifestyle guru who swears by earthing therapy and sex dust smoothies. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to live in her uncoupled shoes, make your way over to Brentwood Country Mart, where her lifestyle blog-turned-brand goop has opened its first permanent boutique today. (The Westside retail therapy haunt hosted goop’s first pop-up shop back in 2014 and its holiday gift shop last year.)
The 1,300-square-foot space’s interiors were dreamed up by New York-based design firm Roman and Williams, which also worked with Paltrow on her own stylish residences. The boutique is modeled after a chic bungalow, complete with a porch featuring vintage stone tile, a greenery-filled mudroom (a rarity in LA), and more stylish indoor and outdoor spaces. Shoppers will find clothing, footwear, accessories, home furnishings, decor, and more in the living room, which features an “innovative magnetic system in crème and white enamel [that] mirrors goop.com’s online experience.”
Over in the apothecary, beauty buffs can shop a range of Paltrow-approved clean skincare makeup, and wellness brands, including goop’s own line with Juice Beauty alongside Kypris, RMS Beauty, Moon Juice, Herbivore Botanicals, and more. The beauty corner also offers a selection of in-store beauty services.
The kitchen — which is fully functional, by the way — features cooking goods, tableware, and more dining accessories, and will host culinary demos and events. There’s also a bright and airy greenhouse accentuated by a skylight and antique orangerie windows, which shine natural light in the plant-filled gardening shop.
In conjunction with today’s grand opening, goop is debuting its collab with Christian Louboutin, which ranges from $250 for a pair of satin baby shoes to $925 for a black leather ankle boot with a stacked heel.
