Calling all LA designers and artists: If you’ve ever dreamed of world domination, consider starting with one of the largest countries on Earth. This month, iconic luxury department store Lane Crawford is on the hunt for our city’s emerging talents as part of its Creative Call Out initiative.
The Scottish-bred, Greater China-based retailer is known for stocking labels like Alexander McQueen, Acne Studios, Chloé, Vetements, and more alongside rising brands — which means you’ll be stocked on the same shelves as these cult-cool names. A panel of buyers, fashion industry vets, and guest judges will be tasked with choosing the very best brands and designers, who’ll receive Lane Crawford’s full support, from boosting their global profile to guiding them through the branding and production process to introducing them to a new scene of shoppers.
That’s not all: The retailer’s also seeking to collaborate with LA illustrators, stylists, writers, photographers, graphic designers, and multimedia artists, who’ll help with “producing innovative campaigns or writing arresting content.”
Intrigued? The deadline to apply is next Thursday, January 18th, and rising designers and brands across womenswear, menswear, shoes, bags, accessories, home goods, furnishing, and decor are encouraged to submit an application online. Learn more about the process and the full rundown on how to apply here and mark your cal for Wednesday, January 24 to Friday, January 26, when Lane Crawford’s team will be holding court at 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Arts District boutique to connect with candidates.
