Remember when nobody needed a museum of selfie-ready rooms to persuade them to get out of the house, or the days when restaurants didn't need Instagram to convince them to create captivating decor? If you, too, enjoy good old-fashioned "immersive experiences" that may or may not also make for picturesque #content, then allow us to introduce you to ArtCubed LA, our city's coolest new event series that's offering the best of both Instagram- and IRL convo-worthy worlds.

The women-led purveyor of culture is kicking things off starting Friday, May 12 with ARTXFOOD, a month-long supper club pop-up that's running through June 3. Diners will enjoy a four-course meal by chef and cookbook author Richard Blais (who you might've seen on a little show called Top Chef?) surrounded by the works of LA artist Greg Ito. (There'll even be vegetarian- and gluten-free options.) It's all taking place at Hollywood's Goya Studios, where guests will be seated at communal tables inside a gigantic cube.

Chef Richard Blais.

Taking place from 6 to 10:30pm each night, the soirée will begin with custom cocktails, followed by dinner and wine pairings surrounded by Ito's paintings, sculptures, and more art installations. For those who want to keep the conversations and drinks flowing, there's also a bar next door where guests can continue their evening.

As far as the art, Ito explains in the event's press release that "working on this unique installation has allowed me to approach the space in new undefined ways not normally found in my practice. It will be an experience to remember: One of hope, fear, love, and loss." Expect Blais to whip up inventive creations inspired by Ito's works — which is to say that you'll need to experience it all for yourself to find out how.

Guests can book seats at a communal table ($189) or opt for more private dining experience ($235 per person) with two to six other pals; there'll also be specialty pricing on Tuesday nights ($170 to $212).

Founded by Ariel Gordon (who's also the art director of cultural fest KAABOO), Art Cubed LA won't just focus on art-infused food events: Expect an upcoming schedule of happenings inspired by music, nightlife, and film, too.
